UV-C Lighting for Biosecurity
UV-C Disinfection That Strengthens Farm Biosecurity
Biosecurity is built from the small routines that happen every day. Tools, phones, glasses, tablets, protective equipment and small farm items often move between clean and dirty zones. Every item that enters a controlled area can carry contamination risk. BioShift helps farmers manage that risk in a simple and consistent way.
The ONCE BioShift chamber uses germicidal UV-C light to disinfect exposed surfaces of everyday items used in and around livestock farms. Instead of relying on chemical disinfection for every object, BioShift gives farms a practical extra step in their biosecurity routine. Items are placed inside the chamber, the cycle runs, and they can then move into the cleaner zone with reduced contamination risk.
BioShift Chamber
BioShift is a UV-C disinfection chamber designed to help farms reduce the risk of disease entering their facility—without chemicals, residues, or added labor complexity.
- Proven to reduce common bacteria and viruses by up to 99.99%
- Chemical-free disinfection process
- Cheaper than using wipes for egg disinfection
Built for Practical Farm Use
BioShift is designed for the reality of livestock farms. The chamber is made from heavy-duty stainless steel and uses reflective aluminum panels to improve UV-C exposure inside the unit. The rugged shelving is suitable for daily farm items, while the pass-through design with lockout protection helps separate clean and dirty zones and supports safe operation.
The system is available in different sizes, including a tabletop unit and an Xtra Large chamber. That makes BioShift suitable for both small personal items and larger equipment, depending on the farm’s biosecurity flow.
Five-Minute Disinfection Cycle
The recommended BioShift cycle takes five minutes. That makes it fast enough for daily use at farm entry points, hatcheries, service rooms or other controlled biosecurity areas.
In ONCE evaluation testing, BioShift was tested against viruses and bacteria relevant to agriculture, including Human Adenovirus type 5, Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus, PRRS virus, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. After five minutes of UV-C exposure, all tested microorganisms were reduced by at least 4 log, or 99.99%.
That makes BioShift a strong additional tool for farms that want to reduce the risk of disease transmission through contaminated items.
An Extra Layer in the Biosecurity Routine
BioShift does not replace existing biosecurity protocols. Cleaning routines, clothing changes, access control and clear separation between clean and dirty zones remain important. BioShift strengthens those protocols by adding a practical way to disinfect items that are difficult to manage with traditional cleaning methods.
For the farmer, the benefit is straightforward: fewer unmanaged items entering the farm environment, less dependence on manual cleaning for every small object, and a more consistent way to reduce contamination risk.
Why Choose BioShift
BioShift gives farms a practical way to improve biosecurity without adding unnecessary complexity. It combines UV-C disinfection, a fast five-minute cycle, robust stainless-steel construction, reflective aluminum panels, rugged shelving and pass-through lockout protection in one system.
For farms where disease prevention has a direct impact on animal health, continuity and performance, BioShift adds control to a part of biosecurity that is often difficult to manage: the everyday objects moving between zones.
